I'm not known for bickering Hardly ever gripe and complain But sometimes I get my dander up So I guess I'd better explain Like a lot of women in this world I'm hog-wild crazy 'bout shoes High heels, low heels and wedgies In greens and reds and blues The thing that bothers me the most Seems to be a woman's curse When I find a gorgeous pair of shoes And cannot find a matching purse If I'm lucky enough to find a pair That will fit my size ten feet I toss them in my shopping cart And to the purse department retreat Most times when I find a match I usually end up in a blue funk 'Cause if I find the same color purse It's too small to hold all my junk So I buy the shoes and hope I find A matching pocketbook some day I'm stuck with shoes that have no purse And eventually just give them away I think I'll write my congresswoman About a law that would cure my blues Demand that the manufacturers make A matching purse for each pair of shoes Kathleen McCoy EldridgeŠ June 11, 2006 All Rights Reserved
