The sun streams hot upon your face On one of those hot, summer days When fleecy clouds move slowly by In the azure firmament on high. A place beneath a shady tree Is where you feel you want to be Just gazing at a waterfall, The spray of it caressing all. Where city noise will not intrude Upon your peace and solitude, You smell sweet air and you have seen Beyond are smiling hills of green. Imagination you have stretched To think all this, and, now refreshed, Recharged, you go upon your way Equipped to do your best all day. And when the day has gone to bed You must rest your weary head; Then, maybe, you will dream of those Akin to you in cool repose. ©Doreen Adams Ellis Used With Permission All Rights Reserved By Author Website
