I hope you come home for Christmas, I've been missing you, my dear. I keep a welcome candle burning In my window for you to see so clear. I know you may not make it home, As you fight for freedom in another land. You may be all alone this Christmas, Since your country's call is your command. My Christmas without you will be lonely, As my heart aches for your tender kiss. I remember all those past Christmases Of all our happy holidays I reminisce. I know you will be missing me too, As you spend your Christmas far away. We shall spend so many hours on the phone, Because to each other we have much to say. I still wish for you to come home for Christmas, Or maybe you'll make it by New Years day. I want to tell you how much I love you, How I've missed you since you've been away. ©M. This poem I dedicate to all those serving in the service of our country and to the wives, mothers, children, etc. Who will miss them as they spend their Christmas away from home.

A candle for your safe return...
