I sought a mountain top to sit I was given a valley to walk So Jesus and I could Have us a little talk While walking through the valley That to me was assigned to go I learned that I needed humbling Because my pride was growing so. You've learned to lean on me This is what I heard Jesus say But you've gotten an attitude That you've earned your way. Everything you have is mine I can take it all away from you Without my helping hand There is nothing you can do. All glory and honor is mine These words I heard Him speak So if you will continue to prosper Give credit to me and be meek. I sought a mountain to sit I was given a valley to learn That all the blessings I have I really did not earn. ©Thomas E.
