For those of you who really know me, you know that it is not uncommon for me to hop in the car and head to the beach to hit
the refresh button on my life. The trip always includes a walk on the beach asking Jesus to speak to my heart.
This past weekend was one of those times. Even with dark clouds around, my daughter and I headed to St.
Andrews State Park in Panama City Beach to seek Him. We have a little thing we do in the water. We make a cross on our forehead with the salt water and pray in the name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. I asked the Lord to speak to my heart.
He simply stated, "Jan, I wish you looked to Me with the same expectant heart that you do when you are looking for shells."
I knew in and instant what He meant for my life. When I go to the beach to look for shells, I always say, "Lord show me what You want me to see today along the beach."
I expect to see wonderful things that are there from Him, yet in my everyday life I had stopped EXPECTING to see the wonderful things He had for me. I had been limiting HIM, but no more.
As we were walking along the jetties, a cute little raccoon raced out of the rocks toward a watermelon that someone had left near us. I will never forget those small looking eyes staring at us from under the rocks.
As we continued along the bay side to the car, we saw dolphins, and a beautiful blue heron just standing nearby. It was as if the Lord Himself placed all this beauty just for us to enjoy, and enjoy we did. The five deer we saw from our car as we were leaving the park were just icing on the cake.
Thank you again, Lord, for the amazing visit.
