Bandages often times hold pain. They can even surround our pain. Old bandages also can hold us back. They are constant reminders of our old pains.

With time, old pains can fade, but we still focus on our bandages. We try to keep them dry, sleep in them, keep them clean. People even comment on them and so we allow our bandages to take us back to our old pains.

But today, with the help of our living Lord, let us rise up, rise up like Lazarus and leave our old bandages, our old pains behind. Only then can we be truly new in Christ. Praise God!
