Stumbling down a familiar path
Reeling from another hit
Trying hard to keep the faith
Growing weaker, bit by bit
Fate has dealt another blow
And a second bridge to cross
Not even daring to ask, “Why me?”
Yet, feeling all but lost
A tear cascades so gently
Down a cheek now showing its age
She furtively looks toward Heaven
As her mind tries to stifle the rage
Recalling the promise of Jesus
And remembering a long-held belief
Pouring out her heart to God
With prayer, comes sweet relief
