(In loving memory of Virginia Lee Shell McCoy who departed on May 10, 2014) Heaven gained another angel When Virginia went home that day Her loved ones gathered 'round her Held her hands and prayed A soul ready to meet her Saviour For that Heavenly home she yearned Eager to walk those golden streets And don the crown of life she'd earned Her body worn and weary Struggling for every breath The angels spirited her away To that great eternal rest Though her leaving left us with tearful eyes And an emptiness in our hearts We are comforted she will reap the bounty That serving God imparts Now she walks in Heaven Holding to God’s unchanging hand Surveying all the riches Of the promised glory land Someday, I'll wear a crown of life And meet Virginia on Heaven's shore We will sing throughout eternity And sorrow will be no more Kathleen McCoy Eldridge © May 21, 2014 All Rights Reserved
