Shivering at my frosty balcony door Looking toward the valley below God has decorated the landscape With a layer of new-fallen snow The chirping of two little snowbirds Break the silence of the freezing air A cold, but gentle, wind is wafting Through the pine trees growing there Windows in the church are all lighted Their orange glow brightening up the day Transformed to a flurry of activity As people come to worship and pray The Christmas season will soon be upon us As the world celebrates a precious gift Sent by God to save our poor lost souls And the sprirt of mankind uplift Enjoying the stillness of early morning Before another winter Sunday begins Thanking God for his wondrous blessings And the promise that His Word portends Kathleen McCoy Eldridge© November 5, 2007 All Rights Reserved
