For Mother
Sometimes I feel you're near me
Your presence is with me today
Holding dear to the precious memories
Of the love you sent my way
When I needed a shoulder to lean on
You could fill my heart with pleasure
Your smile could brighten a cloudy day
Mother, you were a genuine treasure
Your life was not an easy one
And the road you traveled was rough
Sometimes love was at a premium
But you always had plenty enough
There are times when only a mother's love
Can understand our innermost fears
And soothe away the heartaches
The way you did, mother dear
I know you've gone to a better Land
Without sadness, fear and pain
Please save a place for me up there
Where we'll never be parted again
