In our golden days of childhood
We learned about God's grace
Seven brothers and sisters
With long, hard lives to face
Growing up was a struggle
Our faith helped to make us strong
Mother and Daddy worked so hard
To teach us right from wrong
They've long since left this Earthly realm
For a place where angels dwell
We're all growing tired and weary
Soon we, too, will bid farewell
As my eyes survey the wonder
I have neither fear nor dread
I stand at the door of fulfillment
Looking back o'er the life I've led
Now in my twilight years I see
The winding path to that golden stair
And if I cross before you do
I'll wait for you up there
