America's a diverse family, and we have our family fights We show our dirty laundry to the world most every night. Ah, we fight amongst ourselves sometimes, but there's one big family bond, Lord have mercy on anyone else who tries to take this family on. I'm -----American Proud We're easy going, laid back, good old boys and girls ya see, An there's stupid people out there who think that's a weakness of the free But you look back through our history at the fools who tried in vain Rather slap their grandma's face as take us on again. We're American Proud Chorus Holding candles and waving flags and whispering prayers out loud. There's different colored tear stained faces standing in them crowds And the common thread that binds us, when you take this family on--- We're family true, eternal free and forever---- American Proud--- we're American Proud--- There ain't no sleeping giant, that woke up on Tuesdays account They woke up something bigger, they don't know about. A low blow hit our brother, Lord, we seen some sisters fall Now they got the whole family mad and they gotta fight us all We're American Proud Fireman on their hands and knees, breathing smoke and dust, And our women crying, and waving flags and praying for all of us. This family pride wells up in us, in every single crowd. Through the hurt and shock and smoke and fire---risen' up--- American Proud Chorus Then they flew into D.C., showed their true disgrace. Nearly took our breath away, they slapped Uncle Sams old face. Tears ran down our cheeks, but our whole family stood their ground Really hit a final nerve, try to knock our Uncle down We're American Proud Slither back into your hole, yea, crawl into your cave, Our Special Forces brothers, will soon be on their way Then you'll know what real terror is, when our brothers hit the ground. Your gonna meet new family members and they're bringing American Proud We'll be holding candles and waving flags and whispering prayers out loud. With different colored tear stained faces standing in our crowds Cause the common thread that binds us, when you take this family on We're family true, eternal free and forever American proud, we're American Proud, American Proud, American Proud, American Proud, American Proud, American Proud, There's different colored tear stained faces standing in our crowds We're family true, eternal free and forever American Proud, we're American Proud, American Proud, American Proud, American Proud sister, American Proud brother, we're American Proud. History Of American Proud ~ The Song

A week or so after 9/11 Jerry wrote "American Proud"---over whelmed by emotion and seeing the pictures on TV, he penned the words and music; about 3 months later recorded it. Radio stations were not interested and only family and friends had the pleasure of listening to the song. Rick Denman heard the song and put a picture video together that shock everyone. We decided then, to put it on the World Wide Web for everyone to see and feel the emotions of everyday Americans at the sight of this terrible attack.
