Hello Everyone! My name is Phyllis Douglas. This past weekend I was privileged to walk in my first "Walk of Hope" as a two year survivor of breast cancer.
Now, I'm not going to tell you this has been an easy two years, because I had a lot of obstacles to conquer along the way. I had two surgeries, 3 hematomas, 36 radiation treatments and was suppose to have chemo as well, but due to the healing process going wrong, I was not able to take them.
The thing I want to say here today is that through all these adversities of my cancer, the times of loneliness, depression, fear, pain, that gripped my heart, Jesus my Savior never left my side, He did not say Phyllis I'm too busy to help you today, you're on your own, but just as He promised in his word, He proved Himself to be my dearest friend, He was there each morning when I woke up, all through the day and at night when I closed my eyes to sleep, He was there, He loved me and saw that my needs were met. I think He even cried when I cried, because I am his child and just as we as parents cry over our children's pains, God is touched when we hurt.
Today I am two years passed having cancer, all my recent test reports were normal, I praise God for that, and although I still have problems with medications and iv therapy, my God is still helping me every single day of this fight, and it is a fight that has to be fought ~ but victory is ahead.
Many people are facing it right now, and I just pray so desperately for you, trust in God to overshadow you with his love and healing power, rest in Him, He is right there, praise God, to meet your needs and help you thru your struggle. If at anytime you need someone to talk to, I am here for you. I don't have all the answers, but I know the one that does. We are more than conquerors thru Christ Jesus our Lord... God Bless You.
